10th August 1712 | The Barony Cup, contested on 10th August 1712 celebrated the arrival of the Right Honorable Richard Lord Lonsdale. |
Thursday 3rd May 1804 | The Barony Cup of 1804 was contested on Thursday 3rd May 1804 and won by Mare owned by Mr Mayson Hodgson. This was run to celebrate William Lowther, the new Earl of Lonsdale. |

The last time a barony Cup was run for was in 1883. In this year the Cup was changed for a shield valued at 100 Guineas. It carried the inscription ‘The Burgh Barony Cup, the gift of the Right Honourable Hugh Cecil, Earl of Lonsdale’ and was won by Harmony, owned by Mr Thomas Robinson. |
